This park located at the base of Mt. Misen has been designated a Natural Monument.. In 1945, the devastating typhoon hit Miyajima. Momijidani park was badly damaged and erosion control work was done.
This park is one of Japan’s loveliest fall scenes. The striking red of the Japanese maples is especially brilliant against the deep green of an evergreen forest.
