Housed herein are some 3.500 valuable items - industrial art works, armory, household effects, Noh masks, musical instruments etc.
Miyajima History and Folklore Museum
This building was built in the 1830’s as a residence of the Egami Family and was given to the Miyajima municipality in its entirety. The municipality founded this museum by keeping the main building and storehouses of the residence intact and adding new exhibition rooms. On display are 3.000 items including painting and woodcraft, representative of Miyajima’s history and folklore.
Miyajima Traditional Crafts Center
The Miyajima Traditional Crafts Center is a three-storied building. On the first floor, traditional Miyajima handcrafts such as wood crafts, clay bells and Hariko paper dolls are exhibited and sold. On the second floor, you can try making Momiji Manju (a snack cake shaped like a maple leaf). On the third floor, you can make your own Shakushi (rice scoop) and experience Miyajima-bori carving.
The Miyajima Ropeway is a direct way to the miracle spots of "Mt. Misen" enjoyed by God naturally.

A Seto Inland Sea themed aquarium with a relaxing atmosphere where you can get up close to and experience marine life. Spectators can see penguins swimming swiftly in a warter tank like birds flying in the sky and also enjoy sea lion shows from up close. Large-scale fish are also displayed here with more than 13,000 creatures and around 350 different kinds of species living comfortably in water tanks of various sizes.
